Adults will usually indulge in fragrant mooncakes of many varieties with a good cup of piping hot Chinese tea, while the little ones run around with their brightly-lit lanterns.
"Zhong Qiu Jie" probably began as a harvest festival. The festival was later given a mythological flavour with legends of Chang-E, the beautiful lady in the moon.
According to Chinese mythology, the earth once had 10 suns circling over it. One day, all 10 suns appeared together, scorching the earth with their heat. The earth was saved when a strong archer, Hou Yi, succeeded in shooting down 9 of the suns. Yi stole the elixir of life to save the people from his tyrannical rule, but his wife, Chang-E drank it. Thus started the legend of the lady in the moon to whom young Chinese girls would pray at the Mid-Autumn Festival.
In the 14th century, the eating of mooncakes at "Zhong Qiu Jie" was given a new significance. The story goes that when Zhu Yuan Zhang was plotting to overthrow the Yuan Dynasty started by the Mongolians, the rebels hid their messages in the Mid-Autumn mooncakes. Zhong Qiu Jie is hence also a commemoration of the overthrow of the Mongolians by the Han people.
During the Yuan Dynasty (A.D.1206-1368) China was ruled by the Mongolian people. Leaders from the preceding Sung Dynasty(A.D.960-1279) were unhappy at submitting to foreign rule, and set how to coordinate the rebellion without it being discovered. The leaders of the rebellion, knowing that the Moon Festival was drawing near, ordered the making of special cakes. Packed into each mooncake was a message with the outline of the attack. On the night of the Moon Festival, the rebels successfully attacked and overthrew the government. What followed was the establishment of the Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1368-1644). Today, moon cakes are eaten to commemorate this event.

本學年，我依然擔任高一年級一、二班的英語教學工作。在工作中，本人遵守學校各項制度，按時出勤、上課、組織學生晨讀，積極參加市里及學校組織的各種教學活動，嚴格要求自己，虛心向老教師請教，結合本校的實際條件和學生的實際情況，認真備課、聽課、及時反思，使教學工作得以有計劃，有組織，有步驟地開展。

首先，我分析了我校學生實際情況。高一學生普遍英語底子差，基礎薄，所以針對這個實際情況，決定采取堅持“夯實基礎，狠抓雙基，改進學法，激發興趣，提高能力”的指導思想。以此提高學生的學習興趣，不斷提高學習成績。
再次，我做到認真備課。作為一名新教師，我的體會是：上好一堂課很難，但是要備好一堂課更難。在備課之前，必須對所有內容進行熟悉，參考大量相關資料，認真鉆研教材，確定重難點，同時，備課不僅要備教材，而且還要備教法，備教學手段；除此之外，更要備學生，根據學生的實際情況（即學情）采用適合易于他們接受的教學手段，不斷培養學生的學習英語的興趣。認真寫好教案，對每一節課都做到“有備而來”，課后及時對授課做出反思，總結其中不足。并按照單元內容整理重點短語，歸納分發給學生，以便記憶。多鼓勵，少批評。為了使學生更愛開口，在練習中，要重視運用鼓勵性語言，不斷強化學生參加交際的信心授課之后，做到精講精練。在每單元結束時，會針對該單元教學重點難點，精簡一些習題供學生練習鞏固所學知識。習題或是從調研題選擇，抑或是從其它套題或網絡上選擇具有針對性的習題，復印后供學生演練。
認真批改作業。堅持布置適量的作業，使學生所學知識得到鞏固和提高。布置作業時，堅持做到有針對性，有層次性，形式多樣化。每個學生對課堂上的知識掌握程度，都會在作業中得以直接體現出來。對于難度較大的題目，學生出現錯誤較多的作業，課上利用時間統一詳細講評每個錯誤；對于學生不該出現的問題，指導學生及時糾正。每隔兩天布置聽寫任務，對所學新單詞、新短語、好句子進行聽寫。認真及時地批改聽寫。并針對學生的聽寫情況，認真透徹地進行講評，根據其情況不斷改進教法。從而做到因材施教，教學相長。
單詞一直是學生的.難點、薄弱點，直接影響學生綜合能力的提高，在教學中重視詞匯教學，狠抓單詞的記憶與鞏固、以及對詞匯的意義與用法的掌握。使學生掌握科學的單詞記憶方法和養成勤查詞典的習慣。并且搜集了大量的單詞拼寫的習題供學生練習，直接把單詞放到具體的語境中去。鑒于學生的基礎薄弱，或是沒有理解語境，無法補充所缺信息；或是知道是哪個詞，不是拼寫有誤，就是該詞的詞形不對。所以單詞還有待于加強鞏固練習。

為了使我的英語教學適應新時期英語教學要求，樹立起新的育人理念，我們英語組集體抽休息時間對《英語課程標準》進行了研讀，了解了目前英語課程改革的目的，掌握了目前英語改革的重點，明確了英語課程各級的總目標和各內容的分級目標，理解了英語教學原則，學會了一些科學評價原則等，從而為后面的教學提供了充分的依據，奠定了的扎實的基礎，保證了教學的順利進行。
二，扎實備課，理清教學思路。
備課是課堂教學的重要環節，我在備課時做到了以下幾點：
1、課前備課，做到有備而來。我認真閱讀各種教科參書，既備教材，教法，又備學生。結合學生的實際和教材的內容，既要考慮知識的縱向聯系，又要考慮新知的橫向銜接；既要突出重點，又要突破難點；既要體現出完整的教學過程，又要注意好各環節的過渡自然。并制作了各種有趣的教具，如：單詞卡片，實物(圖片)，頭飾等教具為課堂教學做好服務。
2、課中備課，靈活安排簡單易操作的游戲活動。我通過游戲引入新課教學時，為了不打消學生的積極性，我在實施教學的時候，總是盡量設計一些簡單易操作的游戲及活動，將教學內容層層鋪開，把枯燥乏味的課堂變為生動有趣快樂堡，讓他們在快樂高中習，在玩中獲得新知，通過反復的趣味操練(如：唱，演，玩，畫，涂色，做手工等形式)來鞏固所學新知。在活動高中生們都樂于參與，充分調動了學生們的情感態度和興趣，學生的積極性得到了充分發揮，教學效果良好。
3、課后備課，總結教學經驗。每上完一單元，我都及時對該單元作出總結和反思，寫出教學后記，肯定本節課成功的地方，探討該單元的不足之處，為以后的教學工作打下基礎。
三，認真上課，體現以人為本。
《英語課程標準》提出讓學生在教師的指導下，通過感知，體驗，實踐，參與和合作等方式，實現任務的目標，感受成功。這便要求，英語課的教學要以學生為主，培養他們學習英語的興趣，提高他們對詞匯，句型的聽說認讀和語言實際運用的能力。為此，我在實際的課堂教學中做了以下幾點：
