it is time the hunters to confront the lofty mountains, and the seamen, the vast sea. the outside world can be extremely challenging at times, but therein also lies rich opportunities. a poem has this beautiful line, "a hundred thousand mountains/loom large/in the dim twilights/who is the brave one/to cross them/amidst rumbling thunders?

Good afternoon everybody! It's my honor to speak here and I am very glad toshare my topic with all of you. Today I'd like to talk about “my dream”. I donot just have one dream, in fact, I have three. They are: a healthy life, ahappy family and to travel my great country.
I have always admired the long healthy life my grandparents have. They areolder than 80 years of age and they are still alive and kicking! How do they dothat!? My grandparents plant vegetables and grow rice themselves; even in theirold age they still make food for themselves! I guess that is why they can remainhealthy. More importantly they remain humble and never ask for too much fromlife. Perhaps that makes them common, but they live a happy life. My grandmotheronce told me this:” I do not want to live long, only long enough for some grandchildren to be running around in my house”. I want to live a long, healthy andhappy life just as they have.
Since my graduation from primary school, until now, every time on mybirthday I make the same wish. I wish my parents will not fight anymore. I amnot complaining that they gave me a bad childhood, they just fight so much! I amunhappy but that does not mean they do not love me. They do! They love me withall their heart. I love my parents also; I want them to live a happy life aswell.
I want to travel this great country of ours. I want to see the beauty ofour country. I want to see the miracles that made this country great! I want togo from the east to west, from the north all the way down to the south! I have adream, that one day I can travel and see my country with my family and friends! If that is not possible, seeing my country on my own is good enough also. If Ican fulfill all three of my dreams in life, then God can take me away. I wouldbe happy, and l would have lived a full and prosperous life.
Thank you everyone for listening to my dreams.
I thank you!

Reagan: Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you and good evening. Thesponsor has been identified, but unlike most television programs, the performerhasn't been provided with a script. As a matter of fact, I have been permittedto choose my own words and discuss my own ideas regarding the choice that weface in the next few weeks.
I have spent most of my life as a Democrat. I recently have seen fit tofollow another course. I believe that the issues confronting us cross partylines. Now, one side in this campaign has been telling us that the issues ofthis election are the maintenance of peace and prosperity. The line has beenused, "We've never had it so good."
But I have an uncomfortable feeling that this prosperity isn't something onwhich we can base our hopes for the future. No nation in history has eversurvived a tax burden that reached a third of its national income. Today, 37cents out of every dollar earned in this country is the tax collector's share, and yet our government continues to spend 17 million dollars a day more than thegovernment takes in. We haven't balanced our budget 28 out of the last 34 years. We've raised our debt limit three times in the last twelve months, and now ournational debt is one and a half times bigger than all the combined debts of allthe nations of the world. We have 15 billion dollars in gold in our treasury; wedon't own an ounce. Foreign dollar claims are 27.3 billion dollars. And we'vejust had announced that the dollar of 1939 will now purchase 45 cents in itstotal value.
As for the peace that we would preserve, I wonder who among us would liketo approach the wife or mother whose husband or son has died in South Vietnamand ask them if they think this is a peace that should be maintainedindefinitely. Do they mean peace, or do they mean we just want to be left inpeace? There can be no real peace while one American is dying some place in theworld for the rest of us. We're at war with the most dangerous enemy that hasever faced mankind in his long climb from the swamp to the stars, and it's beensaid if we lose that war, and in so doing lose this way of freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment that those who had the mostto lose did the least to prevent its happening. Well I think it's time we askourselves if we still know the freedoms that were intended for us by theFounding Fathers.
Not too long ago, two friends of mine were talking to a Cuban refugee, abusinessman who had escaped from Castro, and in the midst of his story one of myfriends turned to the other and said, "We don't know how lucky we are." And theCuban stopped and said, "How lucky you are? I had someplace to escape to." Andin that sentence he told us the entire story. If we lose freedom here, there'sno place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth.
And this idea that government is beholden to the people, that it has noother source of power except the sovereign people, is still the newest and themost unique idea in all the long history of man's relation to man.
This is the issue of this election: Whether we believe in our capacity forself-government or whether we abandon the American revolution and confess that alittle intellectual elite in a far-distant capitol can plan our lives for usbetter than we can plan them ourselves.
You and I are told increasingly we have to choose between a left or right.Well I'd like to suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There's onlyan up or down -- [up] man's old -- old-aged dream, the ultimate in individualfreedom consistent with law and order, or down to the ant heap oftotalitarianism. And regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would trade our freedom for security have embarked on this downwardcourse.

My community and state are still recovering from the catastrophe that struck recently. A wall of storms with hurricane force winds struck late on a Friday evening knocking down trees, blocking roads, damaging homes, and destroying power lines.
Hundreds of thousands of people suddenly found themselves in the dark without water, electricity, air conditioning, telephones, internet, and television. They found themselves cut off from the modern world enduring sweltering 90 degree plus heat with no help and no idea when it would be over.
The most amazing thing happened, however, as the reality of the crisis sank in: it brought out the best in us. While there were a few acts of selfishness and stealing they were overwhelmed by the wave of love and compassion that came from the hearts of so many.
People shared their food, ice, and gasoline. People who still had power opened their homes to those who had none. People rushed out to clear roads and homes of fallen trees. Selfless power crews worked around the clock to repair the damage and restore electricity.
People gathered on front porches to talk, share hugs and offer words of hope and faith that God would see them through it all. Strangers came together as one family to help each other in this time of great need.
It was such a joy seeing all these people acting like true Children of God under the most trying of circumstances.
Life's disasters strike all of us from time to time. No one is spared.
We all get hurt. We all get challenged.
We all get squeezed by difficulties during our days here.
How we respond to them, though, is up to us.
We can let them bring out the worst is us or we can let them bring out the best in us. We can react to them like demons of selfishness or like angels of love.
May you always bring the best from your heart and soul to whatever life may throw at you then. May you live all of your days here with so much love that Heaven sings and God smiles.

I have been in University for about one year. During my stay here, I came to realize that university life is like drinking coke. We experience all tastes of life here, sour, sweet, bitter and hot.
I am from Province, which is far away from here. I often miss my Mum, friends, and relatives in my hometown. However, I can't see them very often. So loneliness always keeps me company. I am sad that I can't be there with them.
Lucky for me, life in university is rich and colorful. With more free time,we can do many more things besides study, such as joining societies clubs, and taking part-time jobs. Such activities not only make our life more colorful, but also help us improve all kinds of skills. The university is a society miniature, what we learn here will benefit our future life.
Our path in life will not always be smooth. Setbacks can't be avoided. Failing an important exam, break up with boy or girl friend, or refused by a promising company, such setbacks are likely to get us
down. Sometimes we fell so frustrated that we even burst into tears.
Drinkin coke is wonderful, despite the undesirble consequent hiccups. It's bitter, sour and peppery, but also sweet. And you'll even feel excited after gulping down a glass. A college experience is part of growing up. We cry, smile, fall in love, get hurt, leave, learn and then we become a better person. University life is like drinking coke. I'm experiencing it. And I know, I enjoy it!

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen,
Today, I stand before you to talk about the topic of "Outstanding People", a topic that has fascinated and inspired us for generations. What makes a person truly outstanding? Is it their achievements, their character, or their impact on the world? While these qualities certainly contribute to greatness, I believe that it is a combination of all these factors and more that make a person truly exceptional.
Let's start by discussing achievements. We often associate outstanding individuals with their extraordinary accomplishments. History is filled with examples of visionaries who have changed the course of human events. Take Thomas Edison, for instance, his inventions revolutionized the world, and his relentless pursuit of knowledge led to remarkable breakthroughs. His unyielding determination and resilience in the face of failure are qualities that we can all learn from.
However, it is not just achievements that define an outstanding person, but also their character. Nelson Mandela, the great South African leader, exemplified the qualities of courage, forgiveness, and compassion. His unwavering commitment to justice and equality, even after spending 27 years in prison, is a testament to his character. Mandela once said, "I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it." His values and integrity continue to inspire millions around the world.
Furthermore, an exceptional individual is characterized by the impact they have on the world. Mahatma Gandhi, the father of India's independence, is a prime example of this. Through non-violent resistance, he led his country to freedom, leaving a lasting legacy of peace and human rights. Gandhi's teachings of non-violence and his ability to bring people together continue to influence global movements for justice and equality.
However, outstanding people are not limited to historical figures. In the present day, there are countless individuals who are making a difference in their communities and beyond. Take Malala Yousafzai, the young Pakistani activist who advocates for girls' education. Despite facing countless threats, she continues to fight for the rights of children to receive quality education. Malala's courage and determination have garnered attention on a global scale, making her a role model for young people everywhere.
In conclusion, outstanding individuals are those who make a lasting impact on the world through their achievements, character, and influence. History has provided us with countless examples of exceptional individuals who have changed the course of human events. However, we must also recognize the everyday heroes among us who are making a difference in their own unique ways. Whether it is through scientific discoveries, acts of kindness, or advocacy for social justice, outstanding people inspire us to reach for greatness in ourselves.
As we reflect on the lives of these exceptional individuals, let us also strive to become the best versions of ourselves. Let us embrace their values and virtues, and work towards creating a better world. Each and every one of us has the potential to be outstanding, and it is up to us to unlock that potential and make a difference in the world.
Thank you.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. It is an honor to stand here today and share with you some thoughts on excellence and what it takes to achieve it.Firstly, let me define what I mean by excellence. Excellence is the quality of being outstanding or extremely good in a particular field or skill. It is the pursuit of perfection and the constant drive to improve oneself and one's work. Excellence is not just about being better than others; it is about being the best version of yourself.
One of the key characteristics of people who excel in their field is their ability to set high standards for themselves. They do not settle for mediocrity and are not satisfied with good enough. They constantly challenge themselves, pushing the boundaries of what is possible and striving to achieve more. They have a clear vision of what they want to accomplish and are relentless in their pursuit of that vision.
Another important trait of successful individuals is their resilience. They understand that failure is an inevitable part of the process and are not deterred by setbacks. Instead, they use failure as a learning opportunity and as a chance to improve their performance. They do not give up when things get tough; they persevere, finding new ways to achieve their goals and overcome obstacles.
In addition, those who excel in their field are great communicators. They know how to effectively convey their ideas and thoughts to others and are able to inspire and motivate those around them. They have excellent interpersonal skills and work well in teams, building strong relationships with others and collaborating to achieve common goals.
Furthermore, successful individuals are lifelong learners. They are always seeking to expand their knowledge and to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in their field. They are open to new ideas and are not afraid to challenge their own assumptions and beliefs. They are curious and inquisitive, constantly seeking to learn and improve.
Finally, people who excel in their field are passionate about what they do. They have a deep love for their work and are driven by a sense of purpose and meaning. They are not motivated solely by financial rewards or fame; they are inspired by the impact that their work can have on others and on the world.
In conclusion, excellence is not something that is easily achieved. It requires hard work, dedication, and a desire to constantly improve oneself. However, for those who are willing to put in the effort, the rewards can be great. People who excel in their field are not only successful in their careers; they are also deeply fulfilled and satisfied by their work. So, my challenge to you today is to strive for excellence in all that you do. Set high standards for yourself, be resilient, communicate effectively, be a lifelong learner, and be passionate about your work. With these traits, you too can achieve greatness. Thank you.

How to Be Popular
Most people would like to be popular with others, but not everyone can achieve this goal. What is the secret to popularity? In fact, it is very simple. The first step is to improve our appearance. We should always make sure that we stay in good shape and dress well.
When we are healthy and well-groomed, we will not only look better but also feel better. In addition, we should smile and appear friendly. After all, our facial expression is an important part of our appearance. If we can do this, people will be attracted to our good looks and impressed by our confidence.
Another important step is developing more consideration for others. We should always put others first and place their interests before our own. It's also important to be good listeners; in this way people will feel comfortable enough to confide in us. However, no matter what we do, we must not gossip.
Above all, we must remember to be ourselves, not phonies. Only by being sincere and respectful of others can we earn their respect. If we can do all of the above, I am sure popularity will come our way.

If I were a boy again, I would practice perseverance(毅力)more often, andnever give up a thing because it was hard or inconvenient. If we want light, wemust conquer darkness. Perseverance can sometimes equal genius in its results.“There are only two creatures,” says a proverb, “who can surmount thepyramids—the eagle and the snail.”
If I were a boy again, I would school myself into a habit of attention; Iwould let nothing come between me and the subject in hand. I would remember thata good skater never tries to skate in two directions at once. The habit ofattention becomes part of our life, if we begin early enough. I often heargrown-up people say “I could not fix my attention on the lecture or book, although I wished to do so” , and the reason is, the habit was not formed inyouth.
If I were to live my life over again, I would pay more attention to thecultivation of the memory. I would strengthen that faculty by every possiblemeans, and on every possible occasion. It takes a little hard work at first toremember things accurately; but memory soon helps itself, and gives very littletrouble. It only needs early cultivation to become a power.
If I were a boy again, I would look on the cheerful side. Life is very muchlike a mirror: if you smile upon it, I smile back upon you; but if you frown andlook doubtful on it, you will get a similar look in return.
Inner sunshine warms not only the heart of the owner, but of all that comein contact with it. “who shuts love out ,in turn shall be shut out fromlove.”
Finally, instead of trying hard to be happy, as if that were the solepurpose of life, I would, if I were a boy again, I would still try harder tomake others happy.

We chicaned every detail of the innovation. Thousands years before, we created fire when we took a stone to knock another one. Since Han Dynasty, four great inventions had been created and it is one of the greatest signs that China become to the ancient civilized country. And nowadays, thousands of software, products, architectures and public facilities have upgraded more than that about 100 years ago. So how did these happen? What will you do if you are not satisfied with your tools anymore? What will you do if old mode cannot afford to develop in a company? There is no doubt that we should innovate no matter where we are and what we do. Not because of the design itself, but actually for its intended purpose.
If there was no Apple, everyone could not imagine how to contact others easily and enjoy a better Internet surfing.
If there was no Microsoft, perhaps we still worked in a dim office and duplicate some troublesome documents. If there was no Newton, and no theory of gravity, maybe I will win the Nobel Prize like Newton rather than just standing here. I have heard that three apple changed the world. The first one seduced Eve. The second one awakened Newton. The third one was in the hands of Steve Jobs. We sort of think the innovation of the world began with apple. I imagine lots of people want to become another Newton or Jobs right now with just one hand to change the world, right? Have the innovation to follow your heart. It somehow already reflects what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
Via questioning, we can start to innovate. Via innovating, we can start to create better lives. No innovation, no improvement. No improvement, no success. And no success, no civilization. Now, our time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life! Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice! Don't let yourself down! It is the innovation that we cannot afford to lose!

Good afternoon everyone,It is an honor to be standing here today, delivering a speech about excellence in English names. As we all know, names are an important aspect of our culture, and they play a significant role in our personal and professional lives. A well-chosen name can be a great asset, opening doors and creating opportunities that might not be available otherwise.
The selection of an English name is especially important for non-native English speakers, who often struggle with pronunciation and cultural connotations when using their original names in an English-speaking environment. While there is no set formula for choosing a perfect English name, there are some guidelines that can help non-native speakers make a positive impression in their professional and personal lives.
Firstly, a good English name should be easy to pronounce and remember. This is especially important in a multicultural environment, where people are often meeting new faces and trying to remember a multitude of new names. A simple and straightforward name, like David or Rachel, will be much more approachable and easier to remember than a complicated or unusual name.
Secondly, a good English name should have positive connotations. Names like Hope or Grace carry positive meanings that are associated with good virtues, and are likely to be viewed positively by others. Conversely, names with negative connotations, like Lucifer or Jezebel, should be avoided at all costs, as they may create negative impressions and harm personal reputations.
Thirdly, a good English name should reflect the person's personality and individuality. This is perhaps the most important aspect of choosing a name, as it allows individuals to present themselves in a unique and authentic way. Names like Maverick or Scarlett, for example, suggest a strong and independent personality, while names like Aiden or Taylor suggest a more gentle and approachable person. By choosing a name that reflects their personality, individuals can create a positive first impression and establish a personal brand that people will remember.
In conclusion, choosing a good English name is an important aspect of personal branding for non-native English speakers. By selecting a name that is easy to pronounce, has positive connotations, and reflects their personality, individuals can establish a positive image and build relationships that will lead to success in their personal and professional lives. Thank you for listening.

hello, everyone .today i want to introduce one of my favourite novels. first let’s enjoy a video about it.
yes, this is the novel i’d like to introduce--.it is written by alice sebold, an american author. and in last year it was adapted(改編) into a movie by peter jackson, who is famous for his magic products—lord of rings. the movie is also very good.
after seeing the video, you may think this novel is frightening. i want to say ‘no, it’s not a horror fiction’. the novel tells about the thoughts of a murdered girl called susie after she was dead. she cannot forget her families and her lover .she stays in her own perfect world, watching their life. however, if the dead don’t forget the alive or don’t leave them for the heaven, people who are alive will not forget the sadness and cannot be cured by time.
somebody may think it’s a story about justice. but i want to say :’ no.’ at the end of the story , susie was able to come back to stay a few minutes with her boy .the last thing she want is only a kiss. she didn’t care about the punishment of the murder and just wish people all a long and happy life. that is what the novel wants to told us: love is always more important than hate. and ‘a family ,is like the bones all over one’s body .even though one piece breaks down and the others may feel sorry about it for some time , the dead are gone and the life is to be continued .
if one day u die,
if u are in in-between,
if u are in such a edge(邊緣)of love and hate, hope and despair(絕望).
what is your choice?
in a word, this is a moving novel that tells us the meaning of love and death. i believe when you read it, it can touch the softest corner of your heart.
that’s all, thank you.

2011-04-09 16:12:09**:
admin 點擊量:4711 ladies and gentlemen, it's my honor to be here today to give you this speech. my topic is
many people yearn to be more self-confident. yet they have no idea how to achieve that objective. they look at others who have the gift and say, “hey that's what i want.
i hate feeling unsure of myself. i wish i could stop obsessing about what others think of me and quit worrying about disappointing other people. i want to stop anguishing over my decisions and torturing myself about my mistakes.
i think it would be so great to feel self-assured, hold my head up high and stand tall. i've never been self-confident. i wish there were a way i could be.
”there is a way. you don't have to be born with self-confidence. self-confidence can grow and flourish and ripen and blossom until you actually ***e to feel as though there is a different person inside of you.
here are some insights that might facilitate the quest.
learn what a self-confident person is really like. they are not cocky, know-it-all people who don't care what anybody else thinks. they have their doubts.
and make mistakes. and are far from perfect. however, they are willing to acknowledge their inadequacies without dwelling on them.
they do this by maintaining a sense of humor, putting problems in perspective, and focusing mainly on what they've done right, not wrong.
though self-confident people do believe in themselves, they don't try to suffocate others with their ideas or beliefs. they are confident in what they know not only because they read, learn and think but also because they respect their instinct, intuition and the unique body of knowledge that they've developed by living life. they realize that one doesn't have to be labeled an “expert” to believe in one's own truths.
self-confident people don't undermine their own worth by ***paring themselves with others, only to conclude that they aren't “good enough”. they appreciate their strengths and ac***plishments and can acknowledge, without embarras**ent, their weaknesses. they don't live in the “victim” position.
even if something really bad has occurred, they turn it into a challenge, remembering to be grateful for the little things in life.
self-confident people let the world know who they are. if they want something badly enough, they know they have every right to “go for it.” yet, they also know that the path will rarely be easy.
mistakes, blunders and failures are part of the learning process. they seek to learn from their mistakes and do not waste time torturing themselves over what “could have been”.
self-confident people are not obstinate people. if they have an idea about something and it differs from the way another person is thinking about it, they will usually try to look at it from that person's point of view, see why it makes sense to them. yet, a confident person's sense of self is grounded.
it does not blow in the
wind. their ideas do not fluctuate based on what others deem are important.
i hope these insights are helpful to you. if so, perhaps one day you will be able to say what the actress phyllis rashad once said, simply but eloquently, “ i am just myself and who i am is a lot.”

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. It's my great honor to be here today to speak about the topic of exceptional and outstanding individuals, and how their qualities and achievements can inspire us to be better versions of ourselves. There are many famous individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to society, such as Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, and Martin Luther King Jr. These figures have become symbols of hope, courage, and resilience. They have left an indelible mark on history, and their legacies continue to inspire generations of people to strive for greatness.
What makes these individuals stand out from the rest? While they may have had different ideas, beliefs, and approaches, they shared some common qualities that set them apart. First and foremost, they had a clear sense of purpose and vision. They knew what they wanted to achieve and were willing to dedicate their lives to it. They were driven by a sense of mission, not just personal ambition. This allowed them to overcome obstacles, challenges, and setbacks, and to stay focused on their goals.
Secondly, these individuals were not afraid to take risks and face uncertainty. They were willing to go against the grain and challenge the status quo. They had the courage to speak out against injustice, stand up for what they believed in, and take bold actions. They were willing to face opposition, criticism, and even danger in order to make a difference.
Thirdly, these individuals possessed a deep sense of empathy and compassion. They saw beyond their own needs and desires and were able to connect with the struggles and suffering of others. They were able to empathize with the plight of the oppressed, the marginalized, and the vulnerable. They saw their own humanity reflected in the faces of others and were moved to act on their behalf.
Finally, these exceptional individuals were able to mobilize others to join them in their cause. They were able to bring together people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ideologies to work towards a common goal. They were charismatic leaders who could inspire, motivate, and energize others to join them in their quest.
As we reflect on the lives of these exceptional individuals, we can draw inspiration and guidance for our own lives. We can strive to cultivate these same qualities in ourselves and become better leaders, citizens, and human beings. We can clarify our own sense of purpose and vision, take risks and embrace uncertainty, cultivate empathy and compassion, and mobilize others to join us in our mission.
In conclusion, exceptional individuals are not born, but made. They are forged through passion, purpose, courage, empathy, and leadership. They are a testament to the power of the human spirit and the limitless potential of the human mind. Let us honor their legacies by striving to become exceptional individuals ourselves. Thank you.

there are many people who think that wealth is better than health. i used to think so until one day i read a story about howard hughes. he was an american billionaire who got anything he wanted. however, in the last twenty years of his life, his health began to deteriorate and he was miserable. he had the best doctors and nurses. however, he could still find no relief. i realized that health is worth all the money in the world. if you have millions of dollars but your health is poor, you will not be able to do what you want to do. so i would like to say don’t hurt yourself trying to make money. instead take care of your body and be happy with what you do have. health is more important.
which is more important, health or wealth? it is a hot topic among people. i can hardly answer this question. i didn’t realize that health is more imporant until i saw a businessman’s real life.
a successful businessman, one of my father’s friends, devoted himseff to his business. he works from morning to night every day. there is no weekends in his mind. he often says, "i must earn much money so that i can get what i want. "lately, he is ill. though he has a lot of money, he can do nothing but lie in the hospital’s bed.
so i think health is more important than wealth people can do nothing if they are always in poor health, let alone happiness. no matter we are rich or not, we can not ignore the importance of health.
